Frugal Friday: Suave Rosemary Mint Conditioner

I must say that I thoroughly enjoy getting something for almost nothing. I will also say I try a lot of products that may not have worked for me, but worked for LB. This however is something that works awesomely for both of us.

This conditioner is part of the Suave professionals line and is one of the best detangling conditioners I have tried. It’s thick consistency provides optimal slip for those days when LB’s hair has begun to mat due to an exhaustive day of rough housing. I prefer this one over the Shea and Almond version because of this.

The only con I have about this product is the smell. It seems to consists of mostly mint and it is STRONG! Other than that I give it 4.5 stars. And priced at $2 – 3 for 14.5 oz., its a win.

I havent tried the shampoo as of the time of this review. Click the jump for ingredients and Suave’s product claims from the official Suave website.

Frugal Friday: Kids Organics Smoothing & Styling Gel

I don’t use gel often in LB’s hair. Every once in a while I may use Eco-Styler for a wash and go. My product layering skills are not up to par so the end result is almost always crunchy. Curly and defined but crunchy. I came across this product in my local beauty supply store. Ive tried their shea moisturizing lotion and found it to be a tad on the greasy side so I was a little hesitant about trying this one. There was no need for any anxiety because this gel is AWESOME.  The frangrance is very light and it gives a firm yet soft hold with the added benefits of Olive Oil. It also made his hair incredibly shiny.

Frugal Friday….on a Wednesday

I think a lot of parents have a hard time finding products that are child friendly and also are easy on their pockets. I know there is an up in arms battle over sulfates but this product gets a win from me. LB’s hair gets ridiculously matted and tangled once I release the beast. He rolls on the ground, he plays under his covers and often buries himself under mountains of stuffies only to emerge with hair full of dustballs and half a fro. I have tried several shampoos and none have detangled better (and not left his hair stripped) like Suave Kids 2 in 1. I don’t know if it’s the added conditioning properties or what but this shampoos I bomb.com in my book. They carry a variety of scents and also have a free and clear formula without dyes or fragrance.
